Caterina DiLiberto Riggio, A Beekman Resident, Dies at 92

BEEKMAN – Caterina DiLiberto Riggio, 92, a three year area resident and formerly of Woodland Park, NJ, died on February 1, 2017 at her daughter’s home.

Born in Casteltermini, Italy on February 22, 1926, she was the daughter of Vincenzo and Carmela (Vancardo) DiLiberto. Caterina had worked as a nurse. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Patterson, NJ. She loved traveling especially with church groups, and she enjoyed making friends along the way.

Caterina was predeceased by her husband, Mario Riggio; and her sister, Stella Lasalandra. She is survived by her son, Salvino Riggio; her daughters and sons-in-law, Lucia and Gregorio Nuccio, and Stella and Kevin Slattery; her sister and brother-in-law, Carmela and Giovanni; her grandchildren, Daniela, CJ, Stephen, Francesco, Alexandra, Cristina, Victoria, Megan and Samantha; her great-grandchildren, Myles, Hudson, Giavanna and Cecilia; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 12pm at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment at St. Denis Cemetery.
