Betty D. Gelormino, a Wappingers Falls Resident, Dies at 93

Betty D. Gelormino was born in Wappingers Falls, NY on October 13, 1924 to the late Irving and Bessie Dederer, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the young age of 93.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ernie Gelormino, two sisters, Beatrice and Nancy and one brother, Donald.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Sandy, her son Rick and his wife Katie, two grandchildren, Brian and his wife Lori, Kristen and her husband Phil, one great grandson, Gionni, and her brother, Sonny, as well as many nieces and nephews.
After high school Betty attended Vassar Brothers Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1946. She worked as a Registered Nurse in both Hartford Hospital and Vassar Brothers Hospital until her retirement.
Since 1952 Betty was a proud member of Zion Episcopal Church in Wappingers Falls, serving for many years on the Alter Guild. Affectionately known by her great grandson as G-ma, Betty's hobbies included; travel, gardening and crafts of all kinds.
Visiting hours are Saturday, November 4th from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY.
A celebration of Life/Service will be held at Zion Episcopal Church located at 12 Satterlee Place, Wappingers Falls, NY at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow directly after the service at Wappingers Rural Cemetery. Thereafter you are encouraged to return to Zion Episcopal Church Parish Hall to share remembrances and enjoy a light luncheon.
