87, a lifelong area resident, died on Friday, March 2, 2018 at her daughter’s house.
Born in Beacon on August 23, 1930, Bertha was the daughter of Ellsworth and Bertha (Plass) Bruise. On October 23, 1949 at Hopewell Reformed Church, Bertha married the love of her life, William W. Lee, Sr., who survives at home.
Bertha was a Pharmacy Technician at Hopewell Pharmacy for 35 years until her retirement in 1995. She was a life member of Hopewell Reformed Church and sung in the church choir. She was also a member of the Hopewell Hose Ladies Auxiliary and a Majorette for Hopewell Hose.
In addition to her husband, Bertha is survived by her children, Wanda Devine of North Chatham, Wendy Henstebeck and her husband Steven of Germantown, William W. and his wife Elaine of Hopewell Junction, Dianna Genova of Hopewell Junction, Everett and his wife Carol Lee of Hopewell Junction; her son in law, Tom Genova of Pleasant Valley; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Melody, Alyson, Colin, Colleen, Kimberly, Amanda, Danielle, Jamie, Raela, Alissa, Teresa, Carla; her 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Thelma McKenna, Ellsworth J. Bruise, Jr; and her niece, Lynette Bruise.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be on Friday at 10am at Hopewell Reformed Church, 143 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Hopewell Cemetery.
