Ann was born in the Bronx, NY on July 25, 1928 to Salvatore Sanfilippo and Mary (Ray) Sanfilippo. Often characterized as a sweet soul, Ann loved all and cared for all who needed it. She went home to God on October 3, 2017 at the age of 89.

Growing up during the depression had a profound effect on Ann and her appreciation of everything in her life. Her childhood was spent moving from town to town until the family settled in Cornwall, where she met the love of her life, Paul Carbone. They were married over 54 years until she lost Paul on February 2, 2004 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Her constant devotion to him was unwavering throughout his illness. Most recently, she was a much loved resident of the MorseLife community in Florida and will be dearly missed by residents and staff alike.

She leaves her children: Paulette (Carbone) Grimaldi and husband Joe Grimaldi of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Paul Carbone and wife, Dosun Carbone of Brownsmills, NJ and Richard Carbone of Newburgh, NY. Just the mention of her beloved grandchildren: Caroline Grimaldi and Andrew Wiles, Alison Grimaldi, John Grimaldi, Maria (Carbone) and Michael Klein and Jason and Michelle Farningham always brought a smile to her face. Ann was predeceased by her precious grandson, Paul Carbone, III. Most recently, she took special delight in the gift of her great-grandchildren, Mason and Lanah Farningham.

Ann was predeceased by her seven brothers, Dominick Sanfilippo, Simone Sanfilippo, John Sanfilippo, Arthur Sanfilippo, Peter Sanfilippo, Frank Sanfilippo and Alfred Sanfilippo and her beloved sister, Lee (Sanfilippo) Agresta.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 on Saturday, October 14 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
