STORMVILLE - Angelo LaVecchia, 70, an area resident since 1997 and formerly of Dobbs Ferry, died unexpectedly on November 4, 2017 at his home.

Born in Yonkers on August 9, 1947, he was the son of the late Joseph and Angelina (Yacomo) LaVecchia. Angelo graduated from Dobbs Ferry High School and attended Westchester Community College. He proudly served our country that he truly loved in the US Marine Corps and was employed by the Town of New Castle Water Department for 30 years until his retirement in 2007.

Angelo attended Mass at St. Columba Church, St. James the Apostle Church, and Our Lady of the Lake Church. An avid Yankees fan, he enjoyed wildlife and nature especially dogs, fish and birds.

On February 28, 1997 in Ossining, Angelo married Elicenda Paredes who survives at home. On February 28, 1998, they celebrated their marriage with a religious ceremony in Peru. He was loved by his Peruvian family. He is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
