FISHKILL – Alfonso James Campanaro, Jr., of Fishkill, formerly of Yorktown Heights and Randolph, NJ, died on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. He was 74.

Born on June 9, 1943 in the Bronx, he was son of the late Alfonso and Mary (LaCavalla) Campanaro. He graduated from Evander Childs High School in the Bronx, Mechanics Institute in Manhattan, and Westchester Community College. Al worked for Ricola U.S.A., retiring as V.P. of Sales in 2006. He had previously worked for Richter Bros., Sara Lee Corp, Paul Sayers, and D.C. Sales.

He was a former member of the Fishkill Republican Committee and Chairman of the Town of Fishkill Zoning Board of Appeals. Al was also an avid golfer.
On June 12, 1965, he married Marie Franco at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Mount Vernon. Marie survives at home in Fishkill.

Additional survivors include his daughter, Jeannine DelBene and her husband Glenn of West Linn, OR; his son, Richard Campanaro and his wife Terri of Yorktown Heights; his son, Craig Campanaro and his wife Dinah of Dobbs Ferry; his son, Steven Campanaro and his wife Karen of Dobbs Ferry; his grandchildren, Christopher, Danielle, Jacqueline, Richard, Diana, Nicholas, Julia, and Sheba; two sisters, Mary Ann Gentile & her husband Frank, and Theresa Dell’Olio; also many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Calling hours will be held from 5 – 8 p.m. on Friday, March 16 at the McHoul Funeral Home, 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Celebration of Life will begin at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 17 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson St., Fishkill, followed by entombment at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
