Adrian “Butch” Gokey, Sr., 67, of “The Hilltop Hilton” in New Windsor, entered into rest on Friday, October 6, 2017 at home. The son of Louis and Myra (Benson) Gokey, he was born September 2, 1950 in Haverstraw. He married Marie (Harrington) Gokey on September 6, 1969 in St. Peter’s Church in Haverstraw.

Butch was a 1968 graduate of North Rockland High School, and attended Orange County Community College and Mount Saint Mary College. He proudly served our country in the US Air Force from 1968-72. He was retired from USMA West Point and IBM. He was a member of the New Windsor Fire Department, past Vice President and Secretary. He was a Coach for New Windsor Little League, Football, Girls Softball. He was an Usher, member of the Holy Name Society, and Knights of Columbus, all of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

In addition to his wife Marie “Mimi”, he is survived by his mother Myra Gokey; his sister Yvonne Schmitt of Pleasant Valley, NY and his children, Claudine Gokey of Orlando, Fl, Kristin Gokey of Jacksonville, Fl, Adrian Gokey Jr. of Cornwall NY, and Brenna Gokey-Dudley of Middletown NY; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Maxwell, Samantha, Cassandra, Riley, Jed, Madison, Keiley, Adrian III, Tyler; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday, October 13 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, October 14 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY.
