Six people were arrested for allegedly selling alcohol to minors in the Hudson Valley.

On Friday, Town of New Windsor Police, with assistance from the New York State Police and the New York State Liquor Authority, conducted an underage alcohol buy and bust.

Officers had underage people try to buy alcohol form several gas stations and bars throughout New Windsor.

Six were charged with unlawfully dealing with a child, a misdemeanor. The State Liquor Authority will also be charging the owners of the establishments, which may lead to significant fines, police say.

The names of the people charged and locations of the businesses weren’t released.

New Windsor police believes underage stings helps decrease the availability of alcohol to minors and reminds people who sell alcohol of their responsibilities, police say.
