In 3 separate cases 3 were arresting for possessing a number of drugs in Putnam County.

Members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office stopped 38-year-old Dawn M. Variara, of Mahopac on Route 312 in the Town of Southeast. Police say Variara was in possession of cocaine and heroin.

Variara was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. She was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and released pending a future appearance in the Town of Southeast Justice Court to answer the charges.

Anthony V. Martin, 24, of Mahopac is accused of being found with heroin, crack cocaine, and powered cocaine when he was pulled over on Bryant Pond Road in the Town of Putnam Valley.

Martin was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. He was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and released pending a future appearance in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court to answer the charges.

Daniel R. Hutchby, 31, of Lake Carmel was stopped by authorities on on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Putnam Valley. Police say they smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

Officials allegedly then recovered a glass pipe containing marijuana and a hypodermic needle. Hutchby was charged with criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument, a misdemeanor and a violation for unlawful possession of marijuana.

Hutchby was processed at the scene and turned over to the custody of the DCSO pending a future appearance in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court to answer the charges.

If found guilty all 3 could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
