A 22-year-old Fallsburg man was arrested for allegedly stealing jewelry from an Orange County home he was hired to work on.

New York State Police in Monroe and Liberty, with assistance from the Town of Fallsburg Police Department, charged 22-year-old Shawn C. Morris, of Fallsburg for 3rd-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Police say on March 3, Morris was working as a carpet installer in a home in the Town of Goshen when he allegedly stole several pieces of jewelry from the home. An investigation led police to Morris.

Morris was arraigned in the Town of Goshen Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail. Morris is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Goshen Court at a later date.
