Two luxury retailers with Hudson Valley locations recently had their credit card data information breached.

Lord & Taylor and Saks OFF 5TH, owned by Hudson’s Bay Co, were recent victims of a cybersecurity breach, according to Reuters. While the article does not mention the nature of the breach, it sounds like the data was hacked into. The kind of data that was compromised was not mentioned either, but the article says that it was "data on payment cards."

This means it could be credit card numbers, credit card account information or purchases made. According to the article, this is the largest credit card data breach in the past year. Potentially millions of credit cards and credit card holders could be affected.

Lord & Taylor published a message on their website saying the situation is still being investigated, but it is believed to be contained. Parent company Hudson's Bay Co did not publish a press release on their website. The message also said that once the investigation is concluded, cardholders will be notified if their information was leaked.

There are two Lord & Taylor locations in the Hudson Valley: Palisades Center and White Plains. There is one Saks OFF 5TH location in the area, at the Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets.
