Two cars were stolen in Dutchess County Tuesday. Both times, police say the thieves found car keys left inside the vehicle.

East Fishkill Police are continuing their investigation into the thefts. One car was stolen from Secor Lane and was later found in a nearby neighborhood.

The other vehicle taken from the East Fishkill area and was located in Norwich, C.T.

On Tuesday, the East Fishkill Police Department posted photos of a man, pictured below, on their Facebook Page. Police believed the man was connected into a string of recent thefts from unlocked cars in Dutchess County.

Hours later, thanks to the public’s assistance, the man was located and arrested. He was turned over to the Dutcess County Sheriff’s Office after being interviewed by East Fishkill police.

Last week, East Fishkill police investigated reports of a number of recent larcenies from unlocked vehicles in the Hopewell Glen area.

Once again police are advising to lock your car doors and keep valuables, including car keys, in your home.
