It all happened on Saturday in New Paltz.

The New Paltz Police Department along with investigators from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles conducted an underage drinking sweep on Saturday at all of the town's bars.

After the investigation was done early Saturday morning, 16 underage kids were arrested.

Arrested in the sweep were, Adelia Zegel, 19, of Bayport; Eric Gerard, 19, Isabella Risius, 19, Larry Brodetsky, 19, Emma Seager, 19, Elizabeth Dragan, 20, and Joseph Polizio, 19, all of New Paltz; Olivia D’Amico, 19, of Fairport; Emma Prokesch, 19, of Harrisonburg, Pa., Reina Vona, 20, of Highland; and two unnamed 18-year-olds. All the kids were each charged with the misdemeanor of, criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Two unnamed kids were charged with possession of an alcoholic beverage while being under age 21.

The sweep targeted underage drinking in bars with police entering the bars and checking ID's of people in the bars. Police also said that during the investigation they checked about 150 people.
