If you’re a cyclist, runner, or walker, there’s a great event coming next month to Dietz Stadium in Kingston that would be perfect for you and you don't have to be a serious runner, walker, or cyclist to participate. It's the 15th Bike For Cancer Care on Sunday, September 23, and it’s a fun day where monies are raised to help individuals and families here in the Hudson Valley who are facing financial challenges while receiving cancer treatment.

For the past 15 years, this event has raised funds to help cancer patients and their families through the Benedictine Health Foundation’s Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund. They’ve helped more than 1,900 cancer patients and their families with $500 gift cards to purchase nutritious food at Hannaford Supermarkets and/or fuel at Stewart’s Shops to assist with transportation costs.

Here’s what you need to know. You can register online as well as create a personalized fundraising website that is easy to share with your family and friends on social media. They even have email templates to make it easy to email your family and friends to help raise money for this important cause.

If you are a cyclist they offer 3 different routes, a 12, 25, and the Dan Barnes Memorial 50 mile ride. For the runners in the Hudson Valley, they will have a Timed 5K that will kick-off at 10:30 that day. Plus, they will have a Kids Fun Run while the 5K is going on so parents can participate while their children are having fun with their pwn actoivitoes.

It’s a great day that helps so many families here in the Hudson Valley. We hope to see you at Bike For Cancer Care on Sunday, September 23 at Dietz Stadium in Kingston.
